Routine exam & clean with Dentist

Regular dental examinations are an important part of maintaining a healthy mouth. Our dentists identify current and future oral needs and create a plan to make things easy to understand. These appointments include radiographs (where required) and removal of all hard/soft deposits from your teeth. If more than 30 mins is required, a follow-up appointment will be booked at additional cost. Alternatively, an extension to the initial exam can be arranged. This appointment is recommended for new patients with no urgent concerns.

Emergency consultation

This is a 15 min examination focusing on one specific problem i.e., toothache. Treatment will be scheduled following this appointment. This allows us to choose the timing and required length for the appointment as treatment times vary depending on chosen treatment. During the waiting period, antibiotics and pain relief are frequently used to manage your dental problem.

Extractions

Heavily compromised teeth are often needed to be extraction. Options for saving the tooth are always given where possible. An extraction removes a problematic tooth so that the area can heal. Pre-operative antibiotics and pain relief are usually prescribed to ensure a smooth procedure and healing period.

Crowns, veneers, and bridges

These are called ‘indirect restorations’ as they are manufactured outside of the mouth and then bonded or cemented in place. These treatments often come with a higher price tag but have a pile of evidence advocating for their longevity. Digital technology is used for precise & efficient work. Ask us today if any of these could be right for your needs.

Digital dentistry

We continually invest in the latest digital technologies available in NZ. We plan veneers, crowns (caps), dental implants, and orthodontic work through our CEREC Primescan 3D scanner. *link to CEREC scanner*. We keep most of the workflow in-house with a CEREC 3D Mill *link* to work with many of the dental materials.

Root canal treatment

We can avoid extracting infected teeth if we can remove the infection inside the tooth. The tooth needs to be relatively stable but in most cases this is achievable. This is done over two pain-free appointments.

Relief of pain appointment

Most dental pains can be relieved in some way, either temporarily or permanently. If there is an immediate way to alleviate pain, then this will be completed in this 30 minute appointment. Please note that there are some dental problems which are not able to be relieved immediately. If you are concerned about your painful issue, please call 06 867 9329 ahead of your appointment to discuss with our staff.

Fillings

We offer a variety of material options suitable for every client. Fillings are placed when repairing a broken or decayed tooth. If more than 50% of tooth structure is lost, there is limited strength in the tooth and a crown (more info below) may be a more suitable option.

Implants

We plan all our dental implants completely digitally for the most predictable results. These are placed to fill gaps in the mouth, often they’re used when patients cannot wear or dislike wearing a partial denture. Our planning method uses a combination of 1) 3D surface scan of teeth and gums, 2) 3D volume scan using our in-house 3D X-ray. Together, this data is used to plan where a titanium implant is best placed to achieve your desired result.

Travelling from far?

Extra-long appointments are available on request for those of us who travel from afar to seek dental care. Many of our patients travel 2+ hours to come visit us which takes up a lot of their time and money. We respect this and are happy to cater with longer appointments to achieve as much work as possible. If you are unable to make the appointment, please call to reschedule the day before so that our practitioners can re-allocate the time for others in need.
